Submitted By: Alexander E. Patrakov (semzx at newmail dot ru) Date: 2003-10-14 Origin: Alexander E. Patrakov Initial Package Version: 1.1.0 Description: The procedure OpenOffice performs for conversion of host names to fully qualified domain names is Just Wrong. It results in a DNS lookup for 'localhost.(none)' at startup on a typical (B)LFS installation. That slows down things and makes DNS admins angry. The Right Thing is to do nothing in OpenOffice itself. Glibc will take care of that automatically.
